ANGLING METHODS: All legal methods.
However, anglers are reminded that it is a offence to
fish with rod a line within 20 yards of Tarmonbarry weir wall ( Bye-law
No.26, dated 5th June 1865).
ACCESS: There is boat access at Tarmonbarry
Weir at the Slipway.
FACILITIES: Lake fishery,
boats via slipway and ample car parking.
PERMISSION TO FISH: Not
required, please observe our country code.
FISHERY DESCRIPTION: The river
passes though the village of Tarmonbarry on the Longford/Strokestown
road (392). The river upstream of the village has yielded nice trout in
the past but the best area would be downstream of the
weir and the mouth of the Feorish river.
