GOOD AFTERNOON
AND EARLY EVENING SEDGE FISHING REPORTED ON OWEL
Next Wednesday marks the end
of the Salmon angling season which was a lively affair at times on
the Mulcair and to a lesser degree on the River Feale earlier
in September. Also the trout season closes on Sept 30th on many of
our fisheries with the exception of the Mullingar Lakes Owel and
Ennell, Lough Sheelin, Lough Acalla and Pallas Lake. They close on
October 12th, Acalla Oct 31st. Good trout fishing continues on Owel
and Ennell which are worth trying in the evening time with sedges.
The Ballinlough and District Anglers Association's introduction to
Fishing for Children Day was held on Saturday 12th September at
Lough O' Flynn, we received pictures which captured some of the
moments. There was increased numbers of anglers
out on Lough Acalla due to the good weather conditions and good fishing
was reported.
There hasn't been a lot of Salmon angling in recent days as the water
levels continue dropping. However on the Mulcair some anglers did
report catching Salmon most days up to recent days. We expect dry
weather for the last remaining week of the season , so we will
probably have a quiet end to the Salmon fishing season on Wednesday
next. TIGHT LINES!

SHEELIN
A number of the regular L.S.T.P.A.

results. Michael Kelly caught and released 14 trout over the week,
best fish 3.75lbs all on dry fly. John Murphy and friend D Foley
fished over three days and had 5 trout to 2lbs, all released.
Peter Mc Ardle tried the wet Daddy and caught 8 fish to 1.75lbs,
all released. Kien Cairns caught and released 4 trout to
1.5lbs. If conditions are favourable Sheelin is worth trying this
week.

recent fishing on the River Mulcair in Co Limerick
There hasn't been a lot of angling in recent days on the Mulcair.
Anglers who are fishing are reporting Salmon being caught
most days up to recently. We expect dry weather for the last remaining week
of the season, so we
will probably have a quiet final week to Wednesday next.
ShRFB reports for the

Water levels are low after a dry week. Salmon fishing is at a
standstill until there is another flood, which is unlikely at this
stage.
NB: Anglers are reminded that there is a one Salmon/Sea Trout per
