GRIFFIN CUP GETS FISHING SEASON UNDERWAY
The AGM took place last week and a very good attendance had their
say on the issues currently affecting the club and everybody left
with a positive note for the year ahead. The committee elected is
largely the same as last year with Conor Hannon as President,
Michael Ganly as Chairman and Eamon Cunningham as Vice-Chairman.
Sean Kelly was returned as Treasurer and Angela Sloane was also
returned as Secretary with Thomas Killion retaining the PRO role.
Also re-elected to the committee were Geraldine Rohan and Liam
O’Sullivan and joining them this year are Paul and Richie Fallon and
Helen Conway. This will be a hard working committee but they will
also need help during the year from the members with organising
events and as Captains so don’t be shy if asked to help out.
KEVIN GRIFFIN MEMORIAL CUP
The trout fishing season officially starts next Sunday 1st March and
we will also be having our first competition of the year on that
day. The competition will be for the Kevin Griffin Memorial Cup and
will start from Gallagher’s Boat Shed at 10.30am and finish with
lines up at 5.30pm. The weigh in and presentation of prizes will
take place in Gertie’s Bar with scales down at 8.30pm sharp. The
Captain of the day will be Michael Ganly and a scales will be
available during the day should anyone want to practise catch and
release.
