FISHERY DESCRIPTION

Lough Key, on the lower slopes of the Curlew Mountains, is the most beautiful and the most popular of the three, studded with many islands covered by trees and full of exciting promontories and bays.  Its southern shores, with their hills and woodland, constitute Lough Key Forest Park.  Fine trout, averaging nearly 2 pounds, can be caught at mayfly time and it is a great lake for coarse fish, with easy access at many points, many hotels in easy reach and a caravan park close to the shore.
