OPEN SEASON: March 1st - September 30th.

SPECIES: Wild Brown Trout to 0.5lbs.

SIZE LIMIT: 20cm (8 inches) Ref: Bye Law No: 817, 2007.

DAILY BAG LIMIT: Not Applicable.

ANGLING METHODS: All legal methods.

ACCESS: Good at various road bridges locally at Ballyfarnon and Keadew.

FACILITIES: Open Bank, bank side is difficult in places.

PERMISSION TO FISH: Not required but observe country code

FISHERY DESCRIPTION: The Feorish river rises to the northwest of the village of Geevagh in County Sligo and flows southwest to enter the river Shannon north of Derreen. There are a number of nice pools for fishing along the river and the best of these can be found upstream and downstream of Derreen bridge (R284) south of the village of Keadew.

  • Do not park cars in fields except where permission is granted and it is safe to do so.
