SALMON SEASON: Salmon fishery is
closed in 2010
CONSERVATION OF SALMON AND SEA TROUT
BYE LAW NO. C.S. 304, 2009 (Closed Rivers).
This Bye-law
prohibits the taking or attempting to
take by rod and line salmon
and sea trout over 40 cm in the rivers specified in the
Bye-law.

OPEN SEASON BROWN TROUT:
March 1st to September 30th.
ANGLING METHOD BROWN TROUT: All legal
methods.
ACCESS: Fortunately there is access
to the best stretches of the river which are downstream from the
creamery on the main Quilty to Kilrush Rd, and upstream from the bridge
on the Quilty to Doonbeg Road. There is another good stretch downstream
of this bridge but it is difficult to find and involves a long hike from
the road to the river.
FACILITIES: Open Bank fishery
FISHING LICENCE: A permit to fish is
not required for brown trout.
PERMISSION TO FISH: Check the local angling club for further information.
ANGLING FEES: Check with the local angling club
for applicable
trout fishing fees.
FISHERY DESCRIPTION: The Annageeragh River is located
in West Clare. It flows out of Doo Lough, a lake near the borders of
Mullagh and Kilmaley and flows in a westerly direction for approx. 7
miles where it enters the sea near Quilty. The landscape is boggy.
