LOCATION
The above centres are located in what's
popularly referred to as the River Suck Valley . The
River Suck flows between the borders of counties East Galway and
West Roscommon. The valley is a 5 mile wide corridor
each side of the (mid) River Suck and lies about 10 - 15 kms from
Roscommon town, 65 kms from Knock Airport, and 150 kms from Dublin airport.
WHERE TO FISH
There are a number of important coarse and pike
fishing venues in the area where you will find suitable access and facilities to
fish, many developed by the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board over the
years.
The River Suck & Lakes is one of Ireland's renowned
pike fishing areas and well worth considering on your itinerary of fishing
venues to Ireland. The River Suck produces many fine double figure fish each
year with numerous specimens verified by the Irish Specimen Fish Committee year
in year out.

LOCAL ANGLING FEES
Fisheries listed in this guide are on the
River Suck system which is in the direct control of the Shannon Regional
Fisheries Board and part of the
MIDLAND FISHERIES GROUP of waters. A Fishing permit is
required to fish the system. The rates for 2010 season are
Adult Annual €39.00; Pensioner Annual
€20.00;. Juvenile Annual €14.00 Juvenile 1 Day €2.00
Day Permit €12.00 Visitors 21 Day: €20.00. If

PIKE AND COARSE FISHING RULES APPLICABLE FROM 2010
As well as the national Coarse Fish and Pike Angling Bye Laws listed below,
anglers may fish with 'two rods' for Pike and Coarse Fish on the
following waters in the River Suck Catchment, they are the River Suck (including Athleague, Donamon, Creggan,
Coreen, Culliagh) and the following lakes, Hollygrove, Stonehams, Lough Loung,
and Blacks Lake.
