Water levels are presently very low on the River Suck.
French angling guide Patrick Boummon is back on the River Suck with
four of his clients targeting the Pike. They had up to 25 pike daily,
no large fish, best fish 8lbs. Three German anglers fished at
Ballyforan for 2 days and caught 11 Pike ranging in weight from 2lbs
to 24lbs.

Shannonbridge Fishing Report dated 30th August 2010
River levels are at low summer level and the weather
has been generally good.
Many farmers have got their first hay crop from the Callow land beside
the rivers
for the first time in three years.
Frik Haoher, Switzerland fished the Shannon on 17th
August using a lure to catch 10 pike. Best measured 70cm.
Norman Shepherd London fished Shannonbridge on 18th
August using a Toothy Critter to catch three pike. Two were 8lbs and
the other 4lbs. Returned alive.
Guido Van Poll from Holland fished Shannon on 20th
August in good weather, using a plug to catch a 90cm pike.
Chris O Reilly Dublin fished the Shannon on 21st
August using Copper and Silver poon to catch an 8lb pike. Good fight
on a good day. Fish returned alive.
Jan Stevens Holland fished Shannon on 22nd August
using dead bait on a fine day to catch 9 pike from 57cm to 71cm and 3
perch.
Aidan Kelly Shannonbridge fished the Shannon on 26th
August on a fine day, catching 15 Roach. Aidan hooked a Roach on
maggot and a pike snatched the Roach. Aidan fought the pike on his
4lbs line and after almost an hour he landed the 18lbs pike which he
released alive.

Ireland's Pikefly is a Pike fly fishing event held in
September on Lough Derg and the River Shannon in Killaloe. It will be
held on Saturday just before the European Pike Angling Challenge, on
