THE FISHERY

Click on local area map below

This is a popular coarse fishing venue with very good shore facilities for the Bream and Roach angler. It is located on the shores of Lough Derg adjacent to the 'Activity Centre' in Twomilegate and is about 5 kms from Killaloe village on the Scariff road. This is the only venue on the western shores of Lough Derg with stands on the lakeshore. This popular and scenic location has produced good bags to visiting anglers when conditions allow. Best time July and August and due to extreme water clarity in recent years resulting from water filtration by the large resident zebra mussel populations. Fishing tends to be best during late evening, overnight or early morning sessions as fish tend to go to deeper water during daytime.

Avoid the venue if strong winds are forecast especially from the east and north east in the interest of your own safety and comfort.

Some operations in the area provide pre-baiting and other angling services. Contact TJ O'Brien - TJ's Angling Centre  Killaloe (see right hand column for details)

FACILITIES AND ACCESS

There is a car park adjacent the Activity Centre which provides easy access to 9 fishing stands in total. Most of these stands are doubles which can accommodation two to three anglers per stand.

TO GET THERE

From Killaloe take the Scariff road for about 5 kms. There is easy access from the amenity area to the stands.
