THE FISHERY

There are two lakes developed for coarse angling and are stocked with small carp, tench to 4lbs, rudd and bream. The park is 30 hectares and has a wetlands between the lakes which is rich in flora and fauna. Over the last few seasons we did receive some reports and indications are that you can get good Tench and Carp fishing but  Carp tend to be of small size.  Because this is a new fishery, over time carp will grow much larger and this will we're sure reflect in catches over the coming years. There is a fair stock of Tench in the lakes with fish averaging 2lbs to 4lbs.

ACCESS AND FACILITIES

The R357 is a link road between the N62 (Birr to Ferbane) and the N52 (Kilcormac to Tullamore) road. All lakes in the Parklands can be accessed off these roads. . There are parking areas with picnic tables and information points at Finnamore's. There is about seven stand alone fishing stands around the lake shore. You can park your car here and walk a short distance to any part of the shore you wish to fish. In some areas you can nearly fish from your car

TO GET THERE

From Kilcormac take the Tullamore N52 road as far as the Blueball pub junction. Turn left  here and continue along the road for about 8 kms until you meet Finnamore's Lakes.  See BOORA PARKLANDS WEBSITE FOR MAPS
