Drumshanbo is located on the Upper Shannon at the
southern tip of Lough Allen in the most northern part of the Shannon Regional
Fisheries Board region.
WHERE TO FISH
This guide covers
several shore venues around Lough Allen, each having popular local names
such as Heron's Shore, Barney's Point etc. There are also a number of
lakes immediately around Drumshanbo centre. Ballintra on the River Shannon is
also described. The Shannon Regional Fisheries Board provide angling facilities
on some of these fisheries.

There is no rod licence for coarse and pike fishing
on the River Shannon.
