WHERE TO FISH
This guide covers the River Fergus and many lakes as set out in the fisheries
guides below. Ballyeighter lake described boasts the Irish record Tench. Other
good Tench fisheries include Rinroe Pond, Cragmoher Pond and parts of the
Dromore lakes. Ballycullinan Lake is renowned by its Bream and Hybrid fishing
with large fish to over specimen size possible and specimens have been recorded
here by the Irish Specimen Fish Committee over the years.
These rich limestone waters have the capacity to produce good quality Pike
fishing. Most of the fisheries are easily accessible with fairly good facilities
while a few have poor access. Some require a boat for best results. Boat hire is
available and can be organised from Michael Cleary, Corofin. Tel: Outside
