This Lakes system is locally referred to as the  Dromore Lakes and are located about 10 kms from Ennis and Corofin. They include Black Lake and Ballyline Lake. The River Fergus flows through Ballyline and by passes the Black Lake and Dromore. There are approx 400 acres of water in the system. In addition to Rudd, Tench, Perch and Pike there are small stock of Trout. This is a rich and productive limestone water and produces good quality fish. Many specimen Tench up to 7.5lbs have been verified by the Irish Specimen Fish Committee over past years. This is an ideal lake for the Pike angler. There is great scope for the angler interested in trolling or spinning, in either the wide part of the River Fergus or any of lakes.

FACILITIES AND ACCESS

The system is surrounded by 1,000 acres of woodland and access is via a tarred road through the nature reserve. Shore fishing is limited. There is a car park and Slipway at the end of the access road. For best results boats are essential. Access via barrier to the nature reserve is closed each evening - enquire locally.
