THE
FISHERY
This is a long
narrow lake on the Fergus system located to the north east of
Corofin (about 8 kms from Corofin on the road to Gort, route R
460). This lake produced a record Tench of 8.15 lbs caught by
Nick Parry on 20/06/95. Since then Nick has caught several large Tench from this water.
Over recent years a number of specimen Tench have been verified
by the Irish Specimen Fish Committee. This lake is under fished mainly because
of its inaccessible nature.
FACILITIES AND ACCESS
Facilities and Access are
poor. The only access is located at the northern end of the lake.
This is via private property owned by Gerry and Margaret Ruane and a boat can be
arranged through the family at Tel: +353 91 633217 local: 091 91 633217
