THE FISHERY

Lough Bran is a 60-acre lake located 4 miles northeast of Carrick-on-Shannon and can be accessed off the Ballinamore road. This is a very good Bream water with a stock of Roach, Hybrids and Tench to 4lbs. Tench are often reported as difficult to catch and somewhat elusive.

ACCESS & FACILITIES

Fishing is from 20 single stands into 10 to 15 feet of water. One of these is wheelchair friendly and located at the car park. This is a modern floating structure and anglers are reminded that priority should be given to anglers with disabilities.  The Shannon Regional Fisheries Board has also 5 stiles and 1 footbridge along this section of the lake with easy access from the car park. 

TO GET THERE

From Carrick on Shannon take the Drumshanbo road for 4 miles,  turn right onto the Ballinamore road. The lake is clearly visible on the right, and is signposted.
