THE  FISHERY

Lough Boderg is a large lake of about 3000 acres located on the River Shannon. It's has fair stocks of  Bream and also holds good quality Hybrids, Rudd, Roach and Perch. It offers good pike angling opportunities.

FACILITIES & ACCESS

There is is an open bank section with 20 pegs where anglers can fish into about 10 feet of water.  Access to the lake is through Derrycarne Forest Park which lies about seven miles south east of the town of Carrick-on-Shannon. There is a  signpost off the N4. Facilities includes a car park and anglers are requested that cars park in the car park only and not on the lakeshore. There is public boat launching access at Dromod Marina. This is about 2 miles further east on the N4.

TO GET THERE

From Carrick on Shannon take the N4 south for 7 miles. At the top of the Hill pub,  take the old N4 road to the right and turn right just after the railway bridge, follow signposts to Derrycarne wood.
