THE FISHERY

This section is on the main River Shannon. The fishing hotspots are upstream and down stream of the weir. 

ACCESS & FACILITIES

There are 20 good bank swims, which hold good stocks of Bream, Hybrids and Roach. Access is though private land via a stile provided. This is located in Jamestown village on the old N4. 

On the downstream side of the weir you will find 20 good swims where you can  fish into about 10 feet of water. These swims hold quality Roach, Bream and Hybrids. In the fast water just below the weir is a noted spot for wild brown trout to 6lbs+. The Shannon Fisheries Board have 5 access stiles in the area to facilitate anglers.  

TO GET THERE

From Carrick on Shannon take the N4 east for about 4 miles. The village of Jamestown is sign posted off the N4.
