THE FISHERY

This section of the Inny is located downstream of Ballynacarrow bridge described in the guide. The river here is fast flowing and shallow with a gravel bed. It is quite weedy by mid summer, limiting fishing in places. This is ideal trout water, producing lovely wild brown trout to 6lbs and larger every year. For the coarse angler, upstream of the fast water on the left bank is a deep slow moving stretch  ideal for roach fishing. The downstream side  requires a bit of a walk along the bank which can be tiring for the less energetic angler who needs to carry a lot of gear.

FACILITIES AND ACCESS

This is an open bank stretch, access is at the road bridge

TO GET THERE

Past Fornay Church, turn left in the direction of  Abbeyshrule. Continue for about two miles, turn left at the signpost for Whites Garage and continue until you meet the bridge. The fast water stretch extends for about half a mile downstream and a quarter of a mile upstream.
